Terms & Conditions
01 Overview
These terms govern the agreement between Q Lab Academy (a training brand operated under MSTB, the Malaysian Software Testing Board) and any individual or organisation that registers for, attends, or pays for our training.
By registering for a course you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you’re registering on behalf of a company or team, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to this agreement.
02 What we provide
Q Lab Academy delivers public-session and in-house training programmes leading to international certifications administered by IREB (International Requirements Engineering Board) and TMMi Foundation.
Each course includes:
- Instruction by an accredited trainer across the published number of days.
- All participant materials: slide decks, exercise handouts and reference notes.
- Refreshments and lunch on each classroom day (for face-to-face sessions).
- Where included, the official examination fee paid to the certifying body.
Specific scope, duration and pricing are published on each course page and confirmed in the registration invoice.
03 Registration & payment
Confirming a seat
Registration is confirmed when we receive a signed registration form (or online submission) and full payment is received or a purchase order raised against an approved invoice. Seats are limited to 20 per session and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payment methods
- Company invoice: net 30 days from invoice date.
- HRD Corp claim (SBL-Khas): we provide all documents required to file your claim; the grant must be approved before the course start date.
- Self-sponsored: paid in full before the course begins, via FPX or direct bank transfer.
Price
All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are exclusive of Sales and Service Tax (SST) where applicable. The price on the invoice prevails in the event of any discrepancy with marketing material.
04 Cancellation & refunds
If you cancel
- 14 or more days before the course start: full refund, or free rescheduling to any future session within 12 months.
- 7–13 days before: 50% refund, or free rescheduling to any future session within 6 months.
- Fewer than 7 days before: no refund; a substitute participant may take your place at no additional cost.
- No-shows: no refund; materials can be collected for 30 days after the session.
If we cancel
We may cancel a session if minimum enrolment isn’t met or if external events (venue issues, trainer illness, public safety directives) make delivery impossible. In that case, we’ll offer a full refund or the option to reschedule to the next available session. We will not be liable for consequential costs such as travel or accommodation.
All cancellation requests must be sent in writing to info@qlsb.my.
05 Participant conduct
Q Lab classrooms are professional, respectful and inclusive. By attending, you agree to:
- Arrive on time and stay for the full scheduled hours. Exam-day attendance is non-negotiable.
- Treat other participants, the trainer and support staff with respect. Harassment, discrimination or disruptive behaviour is grounds for removal without refund.
- Refrain from recording any portion of the course without written permission, and not redistribute materials publicly.
- Comply with the venue’s rules around safety, security and access.
We reserve the right to remove a participant whose behaviour compromises the learning environment, without refund.
06 Certification & exams
Where a course includes a certification exam, the examination is administered by the relevant certifying body (IREB or TMMi Foundation) under their rules, not ours. This includes exam format, pass marks, identification requirements and re-sit policies.
Q Lab does not guarantee a pass. We do provide the instruction, practice and exam technique needed; historical first-attempt pass rates are published on individual course pages.
Certificates are issued by the certifying body directly, usually within four to six weeks of a successful exam.
07 Intellectual property
All training materials, slide decks, exercise workbooks, case studies, digital handouts, are the intellectual property of Q Lab Academy, MSTB, or the licensed source (IREB, TMMi). They are provided under a personal, non-transferable licence for individual learning.
You may not:
- Reproduce, distribute or publish any material publicly.
- Use the material to deliver commercial training under your own brand.
- Share login credentials for any online component with non-registered individuals.
Ideas, methods and techniques discussed in the classroom are free for you to apply in your professional work. That’s the whole point.
08 Liability
We deliver our services with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Q Lab’s total liability to any participant or organisation in connection with a course is limited to the fees paid for that course.
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, consequential or reputational loss.
- Loss of revenue, profit or business opportunity.
- Exam failure, certification refusal, or rejections by a certifying body that enforces its own criteria.
Nothing in this clause limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
09 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or connected to these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, with a preference for mediation through the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) before litigation.
If any clause is found unenforceable, the remaining clauses continue in effect.
